Oculus VR & The Knowledge Of An Internet Marketing Company

By Robbie Sutter

Late last month, Facebook made the announcement that it had purchased Oculus VR. For those who do not know, Oculus VR is the company behind the head-mounted virtual reality gaming device known as the Oculus Rift. The strangest thing about this story, though, is that it had garnered many opinions. However, it's safe to say that most of them were negative. There is more to consider with this story, though, and I am sure that an Internet marketing company can place a greater level of emphasis on it.

One of the greatest criticisms that I have seen about Facebook's acquisition of Oculus VR is that the focus will be on social media to a fault. Those who have backed the Oculus Rift in the first place were, primarily, gamers and most of these individuals do not care about networking features. They simply want to experience what can be brought to the table in terms of game play. There is a tremendous amount of concern over this but is it an aspect that is warranted to the perspective of an Internet marketing company?

It is important to keep in mind that the Oculus Rift came about because of Kickstarter. People saw interest in the proposed project and, as a result, donated tremendous amounts of money in order to see to it that said project was finalized. With Facebook taking the reins, though, it is fair to assume that there were many who asked, "What was the point of our efforts?" Even though I can see where many are coming from, in this regard, I do not think that it is founded.

In my mind, firms along the lines of fishbat will be able to see many more positives, instead of negatives, that can come about as a result of this. Keep in mind that Facebook is one of the most financially able companies, which means that those very finances can play into the Oculus Rift's development. Who's to say that it cannot come about at a quicker rate? What this means is that the release of this device will come about and make people happy sooner, which is a point that an Internet marketing company can state.

It's clear that while there are many people who have concerns about the long-term result of Facebook's purchasing of Oculus Rift, they should not be feared. To me, this means that the Oculus Rift - an impressive piece of engineering in its own right - will be able to come about much faster than it would have otherwise. It will be able to offer an experience unlike many others in the field of gaming. If you ask me, this can lead to nothing but positives over the course of time.

Demetrios Gabriel & 3 Games For Childhood Development

By Bob Oliver

In spite of what it is that you might believe, there are actually a number of benefits associated with video games. While they might be largely viewed as escapes, they also have cognitive benefits to consider; this is a point that can be focused on by Demetrios Gabriel. If you are a parent, which games would you want your child to play, you may wonder? Make sure that you keep these choices in mind in case you ever see them while you are out and about.

If you are someone whose child is more into puzzles and challenges along those lines, the "Professor Layton" series is deal. The puzzles can range from simple to mind-bending, which is where growth can come into play. Your child has to be able to understand how to tackle certain brainteasers with the hints and information that they are given, which is a rule that very few games seem to exercise these days. If you would like to start with this series, begin with "Professor Layton and the Curious Village."

In order to help your brain, sometimes it's in your best interest to look to the past. While practically every title in this well-known series is worth looking into, I feel like the Super Nintendo classic entitled, "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" is best because it is able to provide the healthiest challenge. It is neither too difficult nor too easy, which is one of the positives that Demetrios Gabriel can tell you of. Another incentive, according to authorities like Gabriel Pediatrics, is that children can approach challenges in various ways.

Blending puzzle elements with sheer physics, there is no series that fits this tagline more than "Portal." First-person shooters are commonplace in the video game industry but the most common ones don't exactly challenge your brain in the way that the "Portal" series does. As you can imagine, you will want to play the first "Portal" game in order to attain the best introduction. The way that you have to not only utilize eye-hand coordination but gravity is unique, for lack of a better term.

Video games are broad, to say the least, and it's understandable that it can be difficult to find the best possible choices. For parents, you may benefit from conducting further research, as you will likely find other types of games that your child can play for the sake of better cognitive development. These are the types of video games that are most important, which I'm sure Demetrios Gabriel can agree with. These choices, in my view, are ones which I believe only scratch the surface.

Bossa Nova Noir: Gravity Bones Ranks Top For Best Games For PC (Free Category)

By Mickey Jhonny

While there's an undeniable fetish for the new in the game world, that shouldn't distract us from real quality. Being a few years old now changes nothing about the fact that Gravity Bones remains, among free games, the top of the list of best games for PC. This brief standalone game drops the player suddenly into what seems to be some kind of exotic espionage scenario.

This two level game is short and sweet; you can play right through it in 20 minutes. Organized about missions, the first level in particular has a learning process built into the environment in a nice and efficient way. The game is downloaded as a zip file, requiring no installation. It uses about 20MB of disk space.

Fine and good, but why do I rave about it so, you might ask. The great fun in this game comes from both its experience-based playing method as well as its strikingly realized aesthetic world. Calling this a first-person game, while accurate, doesn't do justice to its originality. This one is kind of a new genre all of it own: bossa nova noir!

It does have a story, but delightfully not one of the color-in-the-lines type stories that are so common in today's gaming world. Like a great avant garde film, the story emerges impressionistically and is subject to a whole bunch of interpretation.

Soon as the game begins the player is immediately immersed a Euro-spy ambiance. Right off the mark you're wandering amid elegantly dressed guests at a black tie cocktail party, which is spread out over a series of terraces. The terraces look out over a Swiss style mountain encircled lake. Groovy bossa nova tones accompany you through the assembled partiers. The first mission is already underway.

This first level, really a test run, is quickly completed. The second level seems to take you behind the scenes. Once more you are delivered by elevator. This time you emerge in a scenario that is more elaborate and complicated. On this second level, your missions take you through a series of back corridors and over a number of exterior catwalks during an ominous and stormy night.

Incidentally, one of my few complaints about this game is that I could have done without the clue cards. They at least should have been optional. On the first level I ignored the protruding card corner and simply wandered around the party. Eventually I stumbled upon the briefcase necessary to complete the mission. That was way more fun.

The aesthetics of this game are almost as much fun as the play. Boldly foregoing the usual polygon realism the game conjures up a vivid world of its own that works beautifully with an espionage sensibility that stops just short of being self-mocking. It's maybe ironic without descending into cheesy.

This game is delightful in both it brevity and creativity. It's a real treat that is still our number one choice among free games for the list of best games for PC .

3 Learning Tips For Game Design Enthusiasts

By Robert Sutter

When it comes to the most prominent art forms in this day and age, attention has to be given to game design. It is important to note that gaming, as one of the greatest hobbies that people can get lost in, requires a tremendous amount of effort and designers are needed in order to carry out the effort in question. With this in mind, what should design students remember as they go about any given project? These are 3 tips that any student should keep in mind.

1. Never follow the crowd. With annualized franchises like Call of Duty being so prevalent, it is easy to fall into the trap of following the leader. It is clear that certain genres are able to make the most money but one of the other traits that series have, which newcomers in this field do not possess, is name recognition. As a budding designer, you have to build your own identity and what this means is that your creativity has to shine. Do not be afraid to deviate from what is popular.

2. It is important to understand that science is needed in order for this particular art to excel. Game design is meant to be a creative platform and I do not think that anyone can argue with such a point. With that said, science is needed as well since game design is done through computers. The understanding of such elements as coding is integral in order for games to be created. If such a level of understanding is not seen, games are ideas and nothing more.

3. Staying up-to-date with developing trends in the gaming industry should not go overlooked. This is especially true when the video game business is, for the most part, a rapidly-changing field. Sometimes a story may go unnoticed but you have to make it a point to read up and understand the developments that you, as a student, can make use of in the future. The more that you pick up on in the media, the better of a career you will have once you graduate.

These points are just a few to keep in mind if you want to make the most out of game design. To say that there is a tremendous degree of work that is associated with game design perhaps goes without saying but I do not think that this should turn anyone away from this particular endeavor. In fact, I am of the opinion that most of these students have potential because they have a lifelong appreciation for gaming. In time, as long as they put in the work, students can excel in the gaming industry.

Play Your Next Video Game Wisely After You Read This Article

By Laura Hayes

From the classroom to the board room to basic training, video games enhance our lives and enrich our experiences. Video games can give us an outlet to escape our stressful lives, provide us with new friends to talk to, and even improve our abilities. Read the below article in order to maximize your video gaming experience.

Do you know what video game ratings mean? In the past, games were thought of as a toy for kids. Today, many are marketed to adults and are not considered appropriate for children. All games have their own rating, ranging from EC (which stands for Early Childhood) to AO (which stands for Adults Only). If you purchase a video game for someone else, make sure that it's appropriate for their age.

If you're purchasing a gift game for a kid, have a list of possible options. There are a lot of factors that go into determining whether a game is age appropriate, and if you only have one title on your list, you may go out to buy it only to find that it isn't the right purchase.

Make your screen brighter if you can. Games played in dark environments may be thrilling and dramatic, but your performance may suffer. Colors blend together and make it difficult to spot your enemies, allowing them to creep up on you. You may want to sacrifice a bit of ambiance for a better-played game by turning up the brightness. You will then notice the enemy before he has a chance to get you because the colors will be brighter.

Educational video games do exist. If you are getting a game for a child, make sure you look for titles that include education and stay away from those that might contain violent or unsavory content. Consult reviews posted by parents to determine which games are appropriate for younger children and stick to those titles.

If you are not sure what to buy, ask game store employees for suggestions. Lots of people enjoy a specific type of game; however, they might not be aware of any new games. You will find that the clerks can offer a variety of recommendations that you can enjoy for many happy gaming hours.

You can try some video games at your public library. Many libraries have a lot of games you can borrow free of charge.

Libraries generally have games for each current system so give them a call and figure out if they carry the games you wish to try!

Video gaming is a great hobby. You should apply the tips you read and keep doing more research about video games. Now, after you've been busy working hard all day, its time to kick those shoes off, put the video games on and enjoy!

Repairing My Own Wii, No Problem With Wii Fix Guide!

By James Pierce

Ever encountered a broken Nintendo Wii console? Don't know what to do now that you cannot finish your favorite game? Don't trust those individuals at the Parcel Delivery services or the low level repair technicians at the so-called repair centers as you know in the rear of your mind that a lot of them are simply low trained technicians that are taught to sell more parts and repair time? Do not despair as you are far from being alone in this situation. I myself have been there - and I repaired that. You noticed that I said repaired my own Wii, all with the help of a little known Wii Fix Guide.

Let me first tell you my story. Nothing ruins my Friday night more than a broken Wii console. I know some people like to go to a club to enjoy a drink, I do too every now and then. But when you just came from a hell-week with a tyrannical boss and mountains of paperwork, sometimes you just want to end the week at home playing with your beloved metal companion... the Nintendo Wii!

So what to do? Wife and kids will be staying at their grandparents so I have the whole house for myself. This is the perfect opportunity to go all out and play all day right. But I have to do something about my malfunctioning Wii.

Of course I did explore a few conventional options such as sending my Wii in for repair. To one of those no-name repair shops with some guy named Bubba sticking his dirty fingers in my faithful Wii companion. No way. For starters who is going to guarantee fast and safe shipment to the center and secondly who says the shop is going to not cut and run with my Wii or try to fool me into paying hefty prices for un-needed parts and repairs or just keep my Wii and never send it back.

This is my second Wii, my first underwent the knife at one of these so-called Wii repair centers and came back in much worse condition than it was before I shipped it out. The amount of surface damage to my gaming console upset me badly. So who can I place the blame on? The shipping company or the Wii repair center? I could not live with it and just ended giving my Wii away to a family member and went out and made a new purchase.

Bottom line, this is my second unit and as much as possible I don't want anybody touching it but me - since I know this is just a simple problem that I can fix if I have an easy to follow Wii fix guide. I mean, I work at a bank and though I don't have much technical training, I am not totally technically impaired.

So I proceeded to do some research and found a few discussions on a couple of top gaming forums and found some answers to help resolve my issue. From what I can tell there are a few options out there but only one that has a great reputation along with real email support. The Wii fix guide at this website seems to be the Cadillac of Wii repair guides. To top it off being able to ask questions and get a quick answer from a knowledgeable person is worth so much more.

So I followed the link to the website. The website looked great and made plenty of valid points on it being the best solution for those of us not afraid to do a little dis-assembly. Again, reading the part about free email support just completely sold me. No way was I going to pass up on attempting to fix my own Wii.

So I personally repaired my Wii (I knew it was just a simple matter) and nothing is much sweeter than playing an all night gaming session.
