Online Gaming And My Reasons For Giving It Up

By Cindy Hannah

I have had enough of online gaming. I have decided that from now on, I am not switching on my computer anymore because I want to get a life. I have just realised today that I am spending far too much time playing these games. I could be outside experiencing the world instead of just staring at a computer screen for hours every day.

The following are some examples of why online gaming is not for me anymore.

Most of these games are similar so playing a few means that you could have easily played them all. When I first started playing computer games I was only around four years old. I really don't think there is much that could amaze me in the computer world as I am now twenty two years.

All it is, is the same stories packaged different ways. I am now bored with these games because any kind of element that can be added to them, I have seen and played.

I have noticed that since I play these games all the time, I don't really do much else; you could call me a human slug. I can't really remember the last time I did any meaningful exercise and I am actually in the overweight category. The Wii craze did not last very long and it does not look like physical computer games are going to revolutionise the gaming world too much. Unless I get moving soon, I will surely have some health problems. I would actually like to reach my thirties and beyond.

I do have some good online friends, but they are not real friends I have never met any of them in the flesh. I don't even have any real friends and I am ashamed to admit this. I really feel that it is time I got out there to meet some new people.
