Three Very Widely-Known Super Mario Games

By Steve Holt

In recent decades, there were many game systems that were created and put out for sale. One well-known system was made by Nintendo. It was named the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Even today, Super Mario games are still very widely known. They are the most popular-selling games in history. Many variations of these games have been created for different systems.

Super Mario Brothers was bundled with the Nintendo Entertainment System. This game has a two-player mode. The main character in this game has to face many challenges, such as enemies and difficult courses. The purpose of the game is to save the princess from the bad guy, King Koopa.

The main character makes his way through the levels in a left-to-right direction. Along the way, the character has the opportunity to collect coins, extra lives, and various power-ups. The two power-ups featured in this game are the mushroom, which makes the character big; and a flower, which gives him firepower to shoot most of his enemies off the screen. This game has 32 levels in eight different worlds.

Super Mario Brothers 2 is a bit different than the first. There are two versions of the second game. One is called the Lost Levels and the other one is called Super Mario 2. The Lost Levels game was only released in Japan, and there was concern that the game would be too difficult to defeat for other people around the world.

In the second game, the main character has a nightmare. The protagonist discovers his nightmare after the end of the game. This game gives players the option to choose four different characters. Each of these characters can do different things. For example, the princess can glide, while Luigi can jump higher.

Unlike the first game, characters do not go through the levels jumping on enemies and shoot them with firepower. In order to take out an enemy, the character must pick up another enemy or pick up an object and throw it at the enemy to take him out. Likewise, there are no question boxes in this game. If the character wants to power up, they are required to find a potion, which takes them into a world very briefly where they can find the mushroom (power-up).

One interesting thing about this game is the final boss. To knock the boss out of the game, vegetables have to be thrown in his mouth. After he is knocked out of the game, a door opens and the player goes to a celebration ceremony. After the ceremony, Mario wakes up from his nightmare and realizes it's just a dream.

Super Mario brothers 3 is another major game in the series. This game is considered to be the best game in this series. This game resembles the first more than it does the second. A two-player mode is available.

One thing that makes this one standout is the power-ups. The mushroom and the flower do exist in this game and do serve the same function as they do in the first. However, there's also a leaf, which turns characters into a raccoon; a hammer brother suit; a frog suit; or a tenuki suit. Each one of these power-ups is unique in its own way.

Throughout the game, the main character also has the opportunity to collect power-ups that he can use anytime while on the level-select map. Neither of the previous games in the series offer this option. This also makes it a lot easier for people to beat the game.

This series of games for NES are thought by many to be the most popular ever created. As a matter of fact, these games are the foundation for the Super Mario games that are created today.
