Sci Fi MMO: Games To Please Anyone

By Dominick C. Parsons

Two of the biggest media industries in existence today are massive multiplayer online games and science fiction; when they come together, skillfully created sci fi MMO games are produced. These games have a huge variety of followers; anyone can become alien bounty hunters or fight on a team of twenty people against rogue attackers to protect their planet. State of the art graphics and interesting plots thanks to skillful designers all add to the appeal of these browser games.

Science fiction is a hard topic to explain, as many people have their own renditions; usually the field includes futuristic events and subjects that do not exist currently, but have the potential to. Time travel and alien beings from other planets are recurrent themes that our descendants may personally incur someday; some trust these things already exist. Teleportation, robots, and all the aforementioned subjects can create fun and enjoyable themes, especially for games.

MMO games are almost always free to the public for their enjoyment, with the exception of ones on private servers that may incur fees. Thousands and thousands of players can be carried on larger scales of these systems- which can provide fun and competitive gaming, where forty or fifty people can be in one game room pointing guns at anything that moves for one example. These games are also remarkably multifaceted, with numerous roles to choose from with countless missions and levels to play.

Modes and rewards differ from game to game, especially with science fiction MMO's. Real time strategies encompass first person roles, such as commanders or lieutenants, who must direct the team members on his or her ship to obtaining the goals. Persistent worlds continue to grow due to the number of logged on players- when one certain player quits, the worlds and levels can be completely different when they get back online to resume play. Turn based playing is exactly as the name implies- shooters must sign up and wait in position to blow up aliens.

All these notions and theories combine in today's market to generate some games as popular as the classic movies from the same genre. Modest ideas and simple configurations have paved the road for these sci fi MMO's to become the evolutionary technology they presently are. Whether engineered or actual scenery, space and other-worldly patterns can always turn out to be spectacular, with combinations of vivid colors, spheres, and star formations such as clusters and supernovas. Today, anyone can logon to the Internet and befall whatever they choose to play as in these creative scenarios- male or female, alien or robot, and even noble or evil.
