Axton is a solider class in the game. Bad news are can no longer play Roland but some features from the first part for a solider were kept. We can use turret as an extra power for Axton. Zer0 is the most ambiguous figure in Borderlands 2. Zer0 isn't for that matter his name. Longer he stays in stealth mode his sword makes more damage to the prey. Sword is a peculiar element to Zer0 which makes him possibly more unique from other characters. He can set up a decoy and shoot the enemies from very far as his favourite weapon is sniper rifle.
Maya is a Siren, class known from the first Borderlands. Her skill isn't any more Phaselocking but Phaselock. She can capture foe in the power bubble and then you will choose what can happen to the target. It all depends how you evolve skill in the skill tree. Healing, exploding all sorts of choices. Maya is also the only woman that features in the basic set of heroes that can be selected to play.
Salvador looks like a huge piece of rock. He is the biggest and toughest character of all presented in Borderlands 2. He is Gunzerker, class that has its origin from Berserker. He holds special skill known as Dual-Wielding. It will make him strong temporarly, strong enough to hold and fire from two guns at the same time. Obviously skill can be upgraded after leveling.
Mechromancer is going to be a special character accessible with pre-ordered extended version of the game or purchased if we buy basic edition of the game. We know that Mechromancer will be a small girl with power to control mechs and her special power will be Deathtrap - nasty avatar of Claptrap, robot known from the first part. It is not very clear yet exactly how Dethtrap gonna help this little lady.
