There's more out there that goes bump in the night than what's under your bed or in your closet. Nowhere else is that more obvious than in Resident Evil 5, the newest version of the favored horror survival game franchise, Resident Evil. You can often gauge a games rise in the ranks when it jumps from one medium to the other. They were regarded as making a movie or 2 (or three) about this one did they not with huge stars? Despite the flick kudos, gameplayers still prefer to stick with what they know and create their own fate with the video game series. Resident Evil 5 has been released for the Xbox 360 but also has a later date of release in 2009 for the Playstation 3.
Here's a small back story for those that don't know. As you can guess something menacing has happened to get this whole ball of wax off and rolling. In the original Resident Evil, the story takes place in Raccoon City concerning the unethical experiments of a company called the Umbrella Enterprise. The company made a biological called the T-virus. As with all gruesome horrific tales, the experiments go wrong and infect each living species in and around Raccoon Town.
The first team sent in to analyze blood-thirsty living dead and mutated animals is known at STARS, Special Strategies and Rescue Service, Well done team. As you might be able to imagine, they get felled by undead so the Alpha team is sent to rescue them. And, the tale continues through several Resident Evil games till you reach the latest release. Each game builds on the first story and most occurred within days of the other versions. Starting with Resident Evil 4, the location for doing battle is not Raccoon Town. In Resident Evil 5 characters are whisked away to Africa to once again clean up after the Umbrella Concern.
The Xbox 360 has the Hi-D feature for augmented 3D graphics and reality of play. Gameplayers have managed to play as one or more characters in the past. Once the final manager battle was played another player was unfastened and play commenced again as another character. This game features over-the-shoulder play as Chris Redfield with the assistance of his colleague Sheva Alomar. New to the Resident Evil 5 game is the power to control either or both players which was never the case before. Success in the mission is dependent upon both players collaborating. Additionally , the game can be played in a multiplayer role on and offline for more excitement. While playing online with another, the screen splits to see the game from the perspective of both.
Fans of the first Resident Evil will go head-over-heels for this one with the great new features offered by the Xbox 360 and continuing story in accordance with the remainder of the Nintendo game franchise. The game is rated M for mature due to a lot of blood and gore and intense violence.
