Here are some Star Wars: The Old Republic strategies.

Classes of the Republic

Trooper: The Trooper is the game's basic soldier class. It uses heavy firepower and specialized squads to overpower enemies. To overpower and gain advantage over your opponents, use the Trooper's heavy armor and powerful weapons.

Jedi Consular: The Jedi Consular complements the Jedi Knight. Consulars are better with Force-based techniques, whereas Knights specialize in lightsaber combat more than anything else. The Consulars are the wise sages of the Republic, using their wisdom, knowledge, and meditation to out-think their enemies.

Smuggler: A master of stealth and surveillance, it isn't too far of a stretch to call smugglers the scout class of the game. Best at indirect combat, you won't want to use this class in open combat, stick to the shadows instead.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Knights have the Force as their ally, making them one man armies through the masterful use of close combat via a lightsaber and offensive Force abilities. Larger groups of enemies can be overwhelmed through their advanced Force powers and quick agility.

Sith Empire Character Classes

Bounty Hunter: The Bounty Hunter possesses specialized gadgets and high-tech weaponry. As a result, they are a powerful choice in combat against Jedi Knights, more so than any class other than the Sith Warrior. They are especially useful for unexpected attacks due to their sometimes bizarre tactics.

Sith Inquisitor: Complementing the Jedi Consular, the Sith Inquisitor is similar, but for dark-side powers. They are less aggressive and more withdrawn their their Sith Warrior brethren. The Sith Inquisitor is deadly efficient with Force Lightning, so be sure to keep your distance from them in combat.

Imperial Agent: The shadowy fiends of the dark-side, and thus complementing the Smuggler on the dark-side of the Force, the Imperial Agent uses stealth as its main tactic, assassinating enemies with quick, powerful attacks.

Sith Warrior: The Sith Warrior complements the Jedi Knight on the dark side, with its brutally efficient hand-to-hand combat skill with a lightsaber.

Try to keep in mind what your class was designed for with these class specializations, and then use that to develop successful strategies for yourself in this huge online world.
