Another Hallowen Game

By Tenna Kortly

The truth is I am not one to play these games, and I found it a bit too creepy playing a six-year-old kid who, by the way, look sinister as hell (no pound intended) that runs around and kills people because his devil father, said so, and so he can get telekinesis powers.

So just to make sure you got what i said, I am not by any means the usual player of the genre and i mostly played the game for the sake of this review hoping to help the people who are thinking about getting the game know more about what they are getting into.

Ok so after where done with proclaiming what I'm not and why I'm writing this lets begin with the game, Lucius starts with a cinematic when you see yourself (don't worry without the icky parts) born, and at the same time a deal with the devil is made, and up into your little innocent baby body crawls a demon spawn as the cinematic is down we find ourselves in the 6 year birthday of Little lucios, which by the way, has a scary ass face, on this day the devil approach Lluciuos and command him to kill.

You start your nice little demonic killing spree by locking up your nanny in the mention freezer. Doing this killing might be fun, but if you get caught out you will lose your cover of a lovely six-year-old kid who just listens to his parents, in many cases you will need to create a situation where the victim will die without you there.

The entire idea of a being an innocent boy to mom and dad, means that if you get caught anywhere doing something weird, you fail your mission, like any good puzzle solving game you need to find items and create situations where your designated victims will die without any obvious relations to you, but as you progress in the game, you will also get powers to help you out.

Shooting fireballs off your hands and moving things with your mind are only few of the powers you will gain as you move along Lucius murdering people.

Let's talk about the graphics, the graphics of the game are truly high level I do not mean call of duty or anything like that; nonetheless, it is still impressive, and as I believe it is as it should be the mansion is full of details and little things you can interact with like glasses, cups, cabinets, keys, locks and crucifixes that you need to be turned upside down if you do not want to lose your demon powers.

I always thought of horror type games as somewhat movie like games and it is the atmosphere in the game that should be terrifying, however i found the cutscenes just being to annoying, but then again it might just be me.

The highly level of details also come be and hurts the game in terms of long loading times as you move around the mansion, which can really annoy at times.

Although I don't really like horror games, I can really enjoy a good puzzle. The only problem with Lucius is the fact that there is only one way of solving the puzzle which is quite boring and also disappointing considering the great details the mansion have.

The fact that you cannot choose how to kill your mark with the additional lack of clues make this game a bit more boring, and sometimes I will dare say frustrating for those new to the genre. However, many fans of horror type games will probably enjoy the game ambience and the fully detailed puzzle.

Overall I found the game interesting but lacking in fun playability, while a hardcore genre lover will probably get more than a few hours of fun playing Lucius i just could not enjoy it that much.
