Left handed mice are not the only part of Left Handed Gaming.

By Hazel Sharpe

Whether you're right or left handed, it makes no difference when it comes to online gaming. Seriously, the only thing that is important is you're enjoying yourself and engaged in what you like. Isn't it a bit interesting that the fact you're left-handed matters in many other games/sports but not online gaming. Maybe worst case scenario you buy a left-handed mouse so it's more ergonomic; but then after that you just go online and tear it up with your favorites games. Now onto some cool tips for gaming online.

Have the right equipment. If you only play games online once in a while, this might not be a big deal. Change the mouse button functions, and that will do the trick. If, however, you plan on playing one of the MMORPG games like World of Warcraft, EverQuest or any of the other games that are out there, investing in one of the better left handed mouses is a good idea. But do you want to perform at your best? If you do, then think about that left-handed mouse because it will make a difference in many situations. Just do some shopping around, make a day of it - inexpensive left mice that will get the job done aren't tough to find.

Don't be too competitive. Good game play requires you to be at least a little bit humble. Everyone has different skill sets, and when you can out-perform something over another person, don't be a jerk about it and run your mouth. You will lose at some games, even if you're good, so take it well and avoid upset. Be straight and even about it, tell them you enjoyed the game, congratulations, and thank them. So then just think about what made you lose, and see if you can do anything about it. In time people will grow to like you there, and it'll be a good thing.

You should also be ready to step up and give directions when the situation calls for it. It is okay to make sacrifices for your team-playing a way that is different than you are used to can help the team and makes playing more fun for everyone. If you refuse to give any of your ground, you won't have very many people who want to play with you. Try to keep the team's best interest and enjoyment as your priority.

Playing online games can be a lot of fun-especially when you remember that fun is your top priority. If you take it too seriously or try to be super stubborn about getting your own way, you won't have any fun.

More importantly, if you act like a brat, the other people in your game won't have any fun either and nobody will want to play anymore. If you need a left-handed mouse, that's cool and get one; but just keep everything in perspective. The point about the left-handed mouse is that if you need one, get one - and just have fun.
