Club Penguin is a virtual world for children

By Ben Forman

Club Penguin is an online game where kids can go and adopt a penguin persona; you will have your own penguin card, which is used to manage your inventory. You can decorate your card by purchasing new backgrounds and other items. Penguin cards can also display your "pins", Pins are free, but are hidden throughout the game.

Players can play a number of games on Club Penguin. You earn coins based on the score you get, which can be spent to buy items. Most of the games are single player games but there are also some multiplayer games.

Once you have chosen a puffle press the adopt button. You can choose the name of your puffle. When you've adopted your puffle you will receive a postcard to confirm that the puffle is yours! Then go back to your igloo to see him. Just like humans, puffles need to be taken care of, they need to eat and they need to exercise. If your puffle is not feeling well then he will send you a postcard to inform you. If your puffle is sleepy drag the bed icon over it and then he will go to sleep. If you want to give him a bath, drag the bath icon over him. If you want to brush him, drag the brush icon over him and if you want to walk with him, drag the leash over him.

You can upgrade your igloo and add many different styles; some igloo styles are themed for parties, such as the Log Cabin. You can buy Furniture for your igloo and design and decorate him.

The Club Penguin Dojo is a Japanese martial arts school. To find the Dojo go right above the Snow Forts and click on the odd looking mountain. The Club Penguin Dojo is used for snowball fights. The game allows you to advance levels and earn belts on your way to getting a black belt and becoming a Ninja. The game works like rock-paper-scissors but with cards.

Flags are similar to pins and they also appear in the top left-hand corner of your penguin card. You can earn Stamps buy accomplishing goals in the mini-games and on the island. Pins are also displayed in the stamp book. You can see other penguins' stamp books by clicking on their player cards.
